Record results of Sava Turizem in this year and the expectations for 2016

In the period January–August, the Sava Turizem Group generated sales revenues of €44.7 million, which is close to 6% more than last year. Increased sales, the effects of the optimisation measures in business processes introduced and performed in the past years, enhanced productivity and further improvement in recognisability of its brands are reflected in a high EBITDA growth. This amounts to €10.7 million and is by 24.7% higher than in the same period last year. We attribute these results to the outstandingly efficient operations in and out-of-season period; consequently, we expect good business results for the year as a whole and that in the light of both sales revenues and operating profit.

The outstanding results achieved by Sava Turizem are due to the synergetic effects arising from the reorganisation of the company, start of the new investment cycle, introduction of new projects and development of innovative products, strategically-driven sales and marketing activities, reinforcement of cooperation with local communities, integration in socially responsible projects, outstanding engagement on the part of employees and guest focus.

In the upcoming period, the Group will primarily focus on new investments to diversify and improve tourism offer and devote our special attention to a continued internal employee education and training.

In the period January–August, all six destinations managed by Sava Turizem recorded more than 570 thousand overnight stays in hotels and apartments in total, which is good 4% more than in the same period last year. In June, July and August more than 264 thousand overnights were made in hotels and apartments at the level of Sava Hotels & Resorts Group. In addition to a higher price realised on average, the Group also strengthens its market share; it records a growing number of overnights in all of the key markets.

Domestic guests, guests from Austria, Germany, former Yugoslav countries and East Europe prevail in thermal spas of Sava Turizem during the summer, while Bled is mostly visited by guests from Germany, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, East Europe and the overseas countries.

The increased number of visits was recorded in the two largest thermal water parks: in July and August, the number of daily visitors to Terme 3000 in Moravske Toplice increased by 13.8% and to Terme Ptuj by even 31.6%.

Sava Turizem surpasses the plans also in the area of health business as in these first eight months it generated sales revenues that are up to 12.7% on the same period last year.

All that generates strong motivation for preparing the 2016 plan, which presumably presents the first year of operationalisation of the strategy for the consolidated tourism companies, in which Sava d.d. owns equity shareholdings.
